Frictionless Flow Characteristics

Authentication happens silently. The customer is not asked to perform any additional steps.

Used when:

• Transaction is low-risk
• Issuer accepts risk based on device, location, etc.

Sequence:

1. Merchant sends authentication request via 3DS.
2. Issuer performs risk analysis.
3. Issuer approves authentication without user interaction.
4. Transaction proceeds to authorization.

Key Points:

• Smooth, fast user experience
• Completed using risk-based authentication
• Can be revoked by issuer if risk changes
